Salted Sakura

Back from the oldest times in Japan
it was the duty of the house-wife
in spring-time to pick some Sakura-Blossoms

They had to be used if a wedding should occur

Here it is Midori Osawa
the sister in law of my Wife
at her wedding party

To keep the Sakura fresh
there were litterally buried in Salt

Sometimes around 1950 life went easier
and then it was possible to buy Sakura in special Shops

but still same problem - they were buried in Salt
so one had to keep them in water for a longer time and wash them
before they could be used in Sakura Tea
(but the salty taste would not go away)

Then came the new millennium - and Sweet Sakura Tea
ready to use - just add hot water

Still old Men of Japan
don't like the new tradition

They claim Sakura Tea is supposed to be salty taste
not with a nice and delicate taste
and to be used only for wedding ceremonies

It seems like we have seen songs like that before

Anyway
the Housewifes of Japan are happy
so are everybody less than 60 or so
Younger generations are wild about Sweet Sakura Tea

Sweet Sakura Tea has even been in Space (2005)
as the only tea on Earth
(See film from Space under Sakura Tea)

Now Sweet Sakura Tea
is comning to the rest of the World
